There are people who claim that the World Mission Society Church of God (하나님의 교회; WMSCOG) is a money hungry cult. I don’t know why they argue such an absurd claim. The above YouTube video shows how funny and absurd is their argument.
Also, some claim that the tithe is the law of the old covenant and the leaders of the “cults” collect money through the tithe. If this claim is right, Jesus also becomes a money hungry cult. They do not know they make Jesus a cult.
Jesus said, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s” when the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words and asked “Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” (Matthew 22:15)
Then, what is Gods’?
A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD. (Leviticus 27:30)
The tithe belongs to God. Therefore, we need to give the tithe to God. Therefore, Jesus said,
Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices–mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law–justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. (Matthew 23:23)
Jesus clearly said, “You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” What does the former refer to? It’s the tithe. Therefore, we must practice the important matters of the law — justice, mercy and faithfulness, as well as the tithe.
Then, to whom should we give the tithe? As Abraham gave a tenth of everything to Melchizedek, we should give the tithe to the spiritual Melchizedek. Just as Melchizedek blessed Abraham with bread and wine, so Jesus, the spiritual Melchizedek, blessed the disciples with the Passover bread and the Passover wine. In this case, Christ Ahnsahnghong (Korean: 안상홍) restored the Passover and opened the way to the kingdom of heaven. Please read this CRC article for more about the prophecy of Melchizedek.
Those who claim that we do not need to practice the tithe in this age of the New Testament do not know the will of God and make Jesus a cult.
Both faith and actions are important for our salvation. We just need to follow the words of God without making any excuses. It’s written that the saints are those who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.
This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus. (Revelation 14:12)
The Bible says that there is the new name of Jesus an it’s only known to one who receives it (Revelation 3:12; 2:17.) And it’s written that the Holy Spirit (with the new name of Jesus) and the bride give us the water of life in this age in the Bible. Those who deny the new name of Jesus – Christ Ahnsahnghong – also deny the Bible. Can they be saved?
We should not be deceived by the lies of the slanderers. Instead, we should rely on the Bible to receive Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother, who have already come according to the prophecies of the Bible, to enter the kingdom of heaven.
