God taught us how we can enter the kingdom of heaven.
Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. (Deuteronomy 4:2)
The Apostle John also said, “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life [eternal life] and in the holy city, which are described in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19)” Really, if we add to or subtract from the Bible, we cannot share in the tree of life or eternal life.
1. Sabbath day and Sunday service
God commanded “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy (Exodus 20:8)” as one of the Ten Commandments. Moreover, He said “the Sabbath is a sign between God and God’s people.” However, most Christians abandoned God’s Word without any compunction and follow a pagan custom. They say that the Sabbath day is no longer needed because it’s abolished through the blood of Jesus. Or some say that the Sabbath day was changed to Sunday after the Crucifixion. However, their claims are just excuses and are non-Biblical. Jesus kept the Sabbath day (Luke 4:16) and the Apostle Paul also kept the Sabbath day (Acts 17:2; 18:4.) Even a Catholic book wrote as follows:
“Is not every Christian obliged to sanctify Sunday and to abstain on that day from unnecessary servile work? Is not the observance of this law among the most prominent of our sacred duties? But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.” James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of Our Fathers (1917 edition), p. 72-73
Sunday service is not based on the Bible. It’s a mere man-made custom. If we keep Sunday services, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. We must worship God on the Sabbath day or Saturday.
Blessed is the man who does this, the man who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil. (Isaiah 56:2)
Those who desecrate the Sabbath are evildoers and are not blessed. How can evildoers enter the kingdom of heaven? We must hold the Sabbath fast without desecrating it.
2. The Passover and Christmas
Jesus established the Passover by saying, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” He even said, “I eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you. (Luke 22:15)” This shows the importance of the Passover. However, no churches except the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) observe the Passover today. Those who reject the Passover say that they do not need to keep the Passover any more because it’s a festival of the Law of Moses. However, in the Bible, there are two kinds of Laws: the Law of Moses and the Law of Christ (1 Co 9:21.) Of course, if we observe the Law of Moses, we will be cursed. However, we must keep the Law of Christ or the New Covenant to be saved. Jesus declared the Passover as the New Covenant through which we can have the forgiveness of sins.
“I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you…”… In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you [sinners].” (Luke 22:15-20)
The Passover is essential for sinners to have the forgiveness of sins. Unfortunately, people ignore the Word of Jesus and do not keep the Passover. Instead, they celebrate Christmas, a pagan festival. Christmas is not the birthday of Jesus, but a day celebrating a pagan god: sun-god. How can God’s people join a pagan festival?
3. The cross is an idol
God strictly forbade idolatry. We are not allowed to make for ourselves an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. The cross was widely used even before the Christianity era. In the time of Jesus, it was used as an execution tool for criminals. We must remember King Hezekiah who broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made and called it “Nehushtan” (meaning “a piece bronze”.) Like the bronze snake, the cross is a mere piece of tree or iron, which cannot give us blessings or disasters. Instead, we must observe the Passover which celebrates the blood (sacrifice) of Jesus.
Jesus established the New Covenant for our salvation 2,000 years ago, but all the truth disappeared during the Dark Ages. According the prophecy of the Bible, Christ Ahnsahnghong restored the New Covenant and opened the way to the kingdom of heaven again. The words of men or the traditions of church cannot save us. We must follow the Word of God to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers [you who practice lawlessness — NKJV]!’ (Matthew 7:21-23)
