There are lots of churches around the world. How can we recognize the true church among them? And which churches are cults? The only criteria is the Bible. The Bible warns us that we must NOT add to or remove from the words of the Bible (Revelation 22:18.) And it’s written:
But there were also false prophets among the people… They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves… In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up [man-made rules]… (2 Peter 2:1-3)
Churches that keep man-made rules are cults. Though something is good to the eyes of people and it’s not based on the Bible, it’s just a story made by men. 2,000 years ago, the Jews judged Jesus and the disciples and apostles as a cult. This shows that it’s really dangerous to judge something/someone with the eyes of people, not with the Bible.
We have found this man [Apostle Paul] to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect (Acts 24:5)
Today, most churches follow man-made rules such as Sunday service, Christmas, Easter, cross reverence, etc. For example, Sunday service is not based on the Bible. On the contrary, it’s a day of a pagan god: sun god. Christmas is also not based on the Bible. It was the birthday of a pagan god or sun-god.
Then, what should we keep? We must follow the teachings of the Bible and keep God’s feasts such as the Passover of the New Covenant, the Sabbath, etc. In these days, only the World Mission Society Church of God observes the feasts of God including the Passover. Most especially, the Passover the New Covenant has the promise of eternal life and the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 26:28.) Two thousands years ago, Jesus established the Passover with the bread and wine which represents the flesh and blood of Jesus for our salvation. However, it’s abolished by Satan in AD 325 as written in the Bible (Daniel 7:25.) In this age of the Holy Spirit, Christ Ahnsahnghong brought us the Passover of the New Covenant which has been hidden for more than 1,600 years and fulfilled all prophecies of the Bible including the prophecy of king David, the parable of the fig tree and the tree of life (Hebrews 9: 28; Isaiah 25:6-9).
From the above short YouTube movie, you can understand that there are two kinds of heresies: relative heresy and absolute heresy. We must be approved by God, not by men.
Am I [Apostle Paul] now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ (Galatians 1:10)
