The Bible testifies about Christ who will save mankind (John 5:39.) This means that we can recognize the Savior only through the Bible. 2,000 years ago, the religious leaders of the day were well-versed in the Scriptures, but they could not receive Jesus who came to the earth in the flesh according to the prophecies of the Bible. Though they thought they believed in Bible, actually they did not believe it fully. Instead, they made their own God in their mind. So they persecuted and crucified Jesus because Jesus was totally different from the Savior they thought. (They thought that God could not be born as a man, but the prophet Isaiah prophesied that God would be born as a child (Isaiah 9:6.))
The same Bible also says that Christ will appear a second time to bring salvation (Hebrews 9:28.) How can we recognize Christ who will appear again? We can recognize Him only through the Bible. Then, when will He come a second time? Jesus let us know when He would come through the parable of the fig tree.
Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it [He; NASB] is near, right at the door. (Matthew 24:32-33)
When the disciples asked Jesus about the time of His second coming, He told them to learn the lesson from the fig tree. It’s very important to learn the lesson from the fig tree because we can know when He will appear a second time through it.
Then, what does the fig tree represent in the Bible? The fig tree was very familiar with the Jews and stands for Israel (Jeremiah 24:5.)
From the short movie above, you can understand when the Second Coming Jesus will come again through the parable of the fig tree. Since the fig tree represents Israel, the verse “As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out” means “when the Israel gains independence. According to the prophecy of the fig tree, the Israel was reborn in 1948. People say that the independence of Israel was a miracle in the history of mankind. However, it’s just a fulfillment of a prophecy of the Bible. Why did God revolve the wheels of the history and make Israel gain its independence? It’s because to announce the appearance of the Second Coming Jesus.
Then, what does the phrase “right at the door” means? It means that He will start His ministry (preaching) when Israel is reborn.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
According to the prophecy of the Bible, the Second Coming Christ has already come and now He is knocking at the door of your mind. Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Second Coming Jesus who fulfilled all prophecies of the Bible and brought us the tree of life for our salvation. You can meet Him at the World Mission Society Church of God.
The Bible says that we must not treat prophecies with contempt, which is God’s will (1 Thessalonians 5:20.) As you know, we can return to our former home only if we follow God’s will. Please study the Bible diligently and receive the Savior of this age who has already come according to all prophecies of the Bible.
